The Center for Teaching and Learning, RU Online, and the Division of Information Technology invite Roosevelt faculty to participate in "Learning 2.0: Technologies for Student Engagement," a faculty learning community that will focus on the emergence of new social technologies and assess their impact on teaching and learning at Roosevelt.
Through bi-weekly meetings and a persistent online presence during the fall semester, members will use and evaluate a range of technologies for social networking and develop a creative project to enhance student engagement in their spring semester courses. Participating faculty will have access to the resources of the three administrative units supporting the community. Projects will be showcased at RUMCOT and published on the learning community website as shared resources for all Roosevelt faculty.
Familiarly with the concepts and challenges presented by the topic is an important prerequisite for membership, but prior use of specific technologies is not. Whether you're a digital native or a recent immigrant, a willingness to take risks and experiment with new ways of teaching and learning is essential for consideration.
