Weight Grades in the Gradebook

The Manage Items page allows the Instructor to modify Grade book items and select the order for them to appear in the Grade book.  Items that have been created in the Blackboard Learning System (Tests, Surveys, and Assignments) must be removed from the area where they were created.

1. Click on Control Panel


2. Click on Grade Book

3. Click on Weight Grades

4. Type in the weight for each item

If you select Weight Category you will give a common percentage for each category (Ex:  All assignments will be 20 %, or quizzes will be 15% and etc.)

  If you select Weight by Item, you can determine what each item will be individually (Ex:  One quiz may be worth 10 % and another quiz may be worth 15%)  Items must be set up before assigning weights.

5. Click Submit
