The Bachelors of Professional Studies major in Organizational Leadership provides a multi-disciplinary approach to leadership issues, combining management science, humanities, social sciences, research science, communication arts, technology, and ethics. Potential career paths for graduates include Health Care Administration, Information Management, Employee Development, Virtual Organization Management, and Strategic Planning, and many others.
Students who successfully complete the program will:
- Possess an understanding of themselves, others, and their organizations in order to identify a personal leadership style which fits within those contexts.
- Identify necessary organizational leadership skills in given situations and prepare a plan of action for improving organizational leadership abilities.
- Engender commitment and engagement among others within the context of their organizations.
- Value diversity and apply its strengths in leadership roles.
- Critically think about decisions in a manner that is socially responsible and responsive.
- Demonstrate a persuasive and collaborative approach which encourages a teaming environment.
- Help build innovative organizations that respond to ever changing environments.
A six course Certificate in Organizational Leadership is also available online. All certificate courses can be applied to the bachelor's degree. Students looking for a master's degree can complete the BPS in Organizational Leadership and move right into the Master of Arts in Training & Development. All courses in the Organizational Leadership major and the Master of Arts in Training and Development are offered fully online.
