Making Copies of Library Materials Print Copies The Performing Arts Library maintains one photocopier which is coin operated. The 10th floor Murray Green library has a money changer near the circulation desk. PAL staff is not allowed to make change.
The copier is “self-service” and patrons may use the copier at their own risk.
Copies of Sound Recordings
Patrons may NOT use PAL owned equipment to make copies of sound recordings. Copying and Fair Use Library users assume any responsibility for copyright violations, and this holds true for making copies of sound recordings as well as printed materials. While we encourage library users to assert their rights under “fair use”, the PAL staff will only give assistance in learning how to operate the photocopy machine or playback equipment. We will not assist users in making copies of any kind, and we reserve the right to prohibit copying. Copyright warning notices appear on playback equipment and copy machine. Section 107 of the Copyright Law allows for the "fair use" of a copyrighted work for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research. Additional guidelines (H.R. Rep. No. 94-1476) permit multiple copies for classroom use under certain circumstances. |
