Michael A. Bryson, PhD
Associate Professor of Humanities
Bachelor of General/Professional Studies Program
Evelyn T. Stone College of Professional Studies

A member of the BGS/BPS Accelerated Degree Program faculty since 1996, I teach many of the program's interdisciplinary seminars for adult students, including the Pro-Seminar in Critical Skills (BGS 201), Technological and Quantitative Literacy (BGS 290), and Senior Seminars in Natural Science and Humanities.  My courses are offered in both online and face-to-face formats (Downtown and Robin campuses).  My academic background is in literature and biology; currently, my research focuses on the environmental and literary history of the Chicago region, as well as city-based nature writing and the evolving notion of "urban wilderness."  For more info on my teaching, see my online vita.
