Lawrence Locke, Stephen Silverman, and Waneen Spirduso, Reading and Understanding Research. Sage Publications, 1998.
Optional Textbooks If you have a good and recent writing handbook which includes MLA documentation style , you do not need to buy the Hacker book. The Berra book will be used for an end-of-semester group project as a resource. I strongly recommend the book, although you may use a library copy or get xeroxed copies of selected chapters, as we will not use the whole book in class. Tim Berra, Evolution and the Myth of Creationism: A Basic Guide to the Facts in the Evolution Debate. Stanford University Press, 1990.
Diana Hacker, Rules For Writers: A Brief Handbook. 4th edition. Bedford Books, 1999.
