| Research Grants and Projects |
National Council of Teachers of English, CoLEARN, 9/02. Co-investigator. School-based staff development and research project sponsored by NCTE that offers schools the opportunity to become Centers of Literacy Education Achievement, Research, and Networking (CoLEARN), and researchers the opportunity to obtain detailed information about patterns of literacy teaching and learning in schools across the nation. Initial research team will work two years on this project.
NCTE Research Foundation, Invisible Interventions: The Oppositional Practices of Urban Literacy Educators, 4/01. Principal Investigator. Obtained a $4,000 grant in support of a research project examining the creative ways in which urban literacy educators surmount the systematic obstacles that they face in everyday teaching.
