BIOL 150 -- Science as a Way of Knowing
 
Science as a Way of Knowing is a laboratory course open to both science majors and general education students. In this class you will learn what science is, and how to do scientific research yourself. Each student will be guided through the complete experience of science, including asking a question, developing a hypothesis, designing an experiment, doing an experiment, analyzing the data, and reporting the results. The use of measurements, statistics and computers in science will be demystified. In addition, various topics will be explored concerning the history of science, scientific ethics, and the role of science in society.

This course is highly recommended for all education majors, science writers, journalists, teachers and science majors.
